First, the fitted box is an elongated HEART -- then you open it to see an extremely beautiful and unusual deep purple amethyst and lustrous white seed pearls -- then you notice that the faceted amethyst are pentagonal, hexagonal and septagonal --- ever see a faceted 7 sided stone in antique jewelry? The gold is yellow 18K with a 14K clasp. The neck part of the necklace is just under 16 inches -- the drop is about 2 1/2 inches long and just under 1 1/2 inch at the widest --- the box is 3X5 inches with an insert that lifts out and has a depression for the chain to nest in -- the top of the box is printed with the name of the jeweler --- OLLIVANT & BOTSWORTH -- High St in Manchester -- all in all a superb piece of victorian jewelry in the original box | ||
