| Lovely piece of early jewelry -- this is a small collar or lapel pin but what a piece of work !! the brooch is about 15 mm in diameter -- a circle of graduated gold domes at the top site a pearl and turquoise forget me not flower -- the center is a rock crystal dome -- the back also has a rock crystal dome but this one is hinged -- I can't imagine a miniature portrait small enough, but maybe hair work or the early wire work went inside -- as it should be with brooches of this era, the pin itself extends another 15mm beyond the body of the brooch -- all pristine --- it would hold and magnify a small contemporary photo --- please check the pictures and feel free to email questions | |
